Child & Family Therapy in Amherstburg and Across Ontario

When things are hard, curiosity is a good place to start.

Big feelings, school struggles, conflict at home—there is usually more going on than the behaviour we can see. I help children and parents make sense of the whole picture.

Understanding your child, together.

I support children of all ages navigating ADHD, anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, school avoidance, and difficulties with relationships or expectations. My approach is neuroaffirming, trauma- and attachment-informed, with attention to what helps your child feel safe, understood, and connected.

  • Understanding behaviour and nervous system needs without shame
  • Building regulation, confidence, and ways to communicate needs
  • Strengthening parent-child connection and working through challenges together

Parents are important partners in this work. How you participate depends on what is developmentally appropriate for your child and the goals we are working toward. We can explore what is happening at home and, where appropriate, collaborate with educators. The aim is meaningful support that respects your child’s needs and makes sense for your family.

I bring 8+ years of experience in a children’s mental health day program, specializing in complex trauma and attachment. Get to know Amanda.

A first session at your child’s pace.

We’ll start by getting to know each other—what your child loves, what lights them up, and what you’re hoping for. There’s no pressure to talk about anything they’re not ready to share. You don’t need to arrive with it all figured out. I’ll guide the conversation and help everyone settle in.

Let’s see if we’re a good fit.

Tell me a little about what your child and family are navigating. We can talk about whether my approach feels like a good fit.
